indie4me
An archive of British indie, 1977 to now

About

What this is

indie4me is two things at once. It is a magazine — features, interviews, scene reports, reviews and obituaries about British indie and alternative music from 1977 to now. And it is an archive: a structured, searchable record of the bands, venues, gigs, labels, fanzines and records that made the scene, cross-linked so that one page leads to the next.

Much of the archive comes from readers. The people who stood in those rooms took the photographs, kept the tickets and remember the running order. Everything contributed is read by an editor before it appears.

We do not publish claims we cannot stand behind. Where the record is thin, we say so rather than filling the gap with a good story.
